We have just returned from 10 glorious days holiday at Villa Montanha, where we have not stayed before, but created memories that will last a lifetime. Joanne was extremely friendly, helpful and very quick to respond to any questions and info we needed and is the perfect host. There is also a really useful file with info in the lounge. I have never stayed anywhere, that is so well equipped and catered for every need. The Villa is stunning and extremely spacious. For us the total star of the show is the swimming pool - it was like having a hotel pool, all for ourselves. With a shallow end and a deep end suitable for bombing and diving and big enough for ball games, length swimming and inflatables at the same time! There are lots of fans inside, sun loungers, terraces, balconies and shaded areas. A fully equpped utility and pantry. There is a smashing full size table football, which saw a fair few tournaments, during our stay. We even saw some prem and carabao cup games on the TV. As well as nipping to the Pigs head sports bar near Burgau and Kellys bar in Luz. We were a group of every age from 2.5 years to 94 and it suited everyone's needs. There is a downhill walk into Luz, with lots of bar, restaurants and shops and a steep walk back. But with our age groups we were always going to just grab a cab (Darios local taxis) or uber, to Luz, Burgau and Lagos. There is a big private drive if you hire a car and the area where the villa is located, is very select. For us the location was perfect and benefitted from a very welcome breeze. We stocked up with food and drinks from Baptista in Luz, who also do local deliveries. They have a fab deli, bakery and butchers, and we had barbys using the outside barby area (loads of barby tools provided which went down well) and dined outside in the covered terrace, as well as eating out lots too. Leaving to go back home!!!
